Even though we’re giving this tip for Windows 10, some of the basic layouts and prerequisites haven’t changed much over the years, and you can easily adapt this tutorial to previous versions of Windows.

To create a Windows Firewall rule, your organization must first disableThere is an advanced firewall interface, which is why it’s called Windows Firewall with Advanced Security. To do this, go to the Control Panel and select “Windows Firewall”. In the “Windows, Firewall” window, select the “Advanced options” link at the far left.

Update Windows 10.

Note. There’s a lot going on in the advanced interface that we’re following very closely, leaving a few things outside the mini-workshop and your experience level. Firewall violations are the new sure way to big headaches.

On the far left navigation bar, click the Outbound Rules link. This will display all existing outbound firewall rules in the central pane. Don’t be surprised that many are already filled with dozens and dozens of entries generated by Windows.

In the rightmost pane, click Rule, New to create a new currency for outgoing payments.

Before you continue, you need to make an important and fantastic change. Trust us later. If you skip this step, you will end up disappointed.

By default, when you use the browse command to select an .exe file, Windows uses a word known as environment variables, provided that the particular path contains the provided path part represented by one of these variables. For example, if you specify C:\Users\Steve instead, this part is likely to be replaced by the specific environment variable %USERPROFILE%.

For some reason, even though this is a random default value that fills the program area, it violates commercial firewall law. If the file you are viewingIf it is in a location where an environment variable is required (for example, the path /User/ in the path /Programs/), you need to manually repeat the path to the program to clear the variable and replace it with a correct and complete file policy. If it’s a bit tricky, let’s illustrate it with our renderer above.

When we navigated directly to the executable for our Maxthon web browser, Windows currently included the following program path information for that file, which was in all my documents folders:

Why do I keep getting blue screen Windows 10?

A blue screen occurs when Windows is tracking down a critical error that stops the execution of a particular operating system. These very serious errors can be the result of faulty hardware, faulty or slow hardware drivers, or faulty or extremely demanding applications running on the real Windows kernel.

This path file is captured by Windows, but for some reason is no longer recognized when pasted into a firewall rule. Instead, I have to replace the contents of the path containing the environment variable due to the full path file. In most cases it looks like this:

It is quite realistic that this is a feature that has been sandboxed to allow you to use the current version of the Windows 10 firewall and use environment variables in other versions, but we will say inI think it’s generally recommended to remove the variable and use the full and complete absolute path to the file to save you headaches today and later.
