problem:
When installing JDK 6 using a Windows-detected installer (.exe), after selecting the required items (JDK, JRE, sources, etc.) in the company and performing some actions, an insecure window appears with the following message:
Error 1311: Source file not found: C:\Documents and Settings\Users\Data Applications\Sun\Java\jdk1.6.0\ss160000.cab. Make sure this file is found and you can include it.
"Redo" and "Cancel" buttons. "Retry" doesn't work, "Cancel" aborts the installation (after confirmation). The file is, readable. Extract
Moving the taxi and MSI files from the above directory to another without wildcards or diacritics in the path name, in addition to manually running the MSI installer, succeeds.
STEPS TO REPEAT THE PROBLEM:
Download the offline installer for Windows from java.sun.com.
Run.
Select the required packages and continue Installation.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR VS REAL BEHAVIOR:
WHILE -
Installed JDK6.
AS A RESULT -
During installation, an Solution For Java Installer Error 1311 – Sourcemondo window appears:
Error 1311: Source file not found: C:\Documents and Settings\Users\Data Applications\Sun\Java\jdk1.6.0\ss160000.cab. Make sure most of the files are there and you can access them.
and "Retry" and "Cancel" buttons.
REPRODUCIBILITY:
This mistake can always be repeated.
THE CUSTOMER PROVIDED THE SOLUTION:
Also, move the unzipped msi-cabs to the files directory without using spaces/diacritics there (try one without as well, not sure which of the two is the problem).

Please make sure you have enough CD/DVD space on your Windows system and on the drives where you purchased the “Temporary Files” directories. You can get this advice by clearing those designated temporary file directories when they tend to fill up quickly. Note that these directories contain information that you may not want to delete immediately, but should be critical to more than just the proper functioning of the operating system. </p>

I’m debating, I’ve had it on two different PCs that currently use Java auto-update – these are the only two tocomputers that I went crazy on and asked if I really want to install and they are all dead – You need to improve software installation. </p>

I don’t know if this will help anyone, but I had the same problem when I was trying to update not one but two Windows PCs (specifically 1 XP, 2000). At one time I had 13-16 GB of full disk space, but as soon as I emptied the trash, the build ended. I am using the online install option. I seem to suspect that the problem is that the installer is unable to return to the PC to download it. </p>

Generally, we have a similar problem with a number of our customers, especially in Japan. </p>
<p>
We think what happened is that IE has exceeded the IE cache limit, moreover, the CAB is therefore not downloaded – even if there are free forces. </p>

We did not conduct deep scientific and technical research on this issue. If the assumptions turned out to be correct, this is a virus in the installer, whichwhich needs to be disclosed, because it is absolutely necessary for him to understand the information about him. </p>

I got close to this problem using a standalone build. On this single page, click on the manual download link >> http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp and then click on any download button for offline installation. Then save the file and try the offline installation. This worked for me. Good luck ! </p>

You must have enough space on your Windows system drive, as well as on the drives where all your “temporary files” directories are stored. You can achieve this by clearing these directories of certain passport files as they fill up quickly. Please be aware that sometimes these directories contain critical information that you may not want to delete right away, but which, according to experts, should not be critical to the operation of the operating system. </p>

Interestingly, the problem stems from the fact that this installer cannot get on the PC. </p>
